Totem Pole Books is the book publishing arm of Totem Publications, which also publishes Canada's monthly newspaper, First Nations Drum.

Totem Pole Books is Canada's official Native publisher with titles that inform and entertain its readers to strengthen understanding between Native and non-native residents. Our books deal exclusively with news and information relevant to Native communities and lifestyles.

The hummingbird at the top of the totem pole stands for beauty, vigilance and "making weightless gemstones out of light." The beaver at the bottom of the logo stands for industry and reliability. The hummingbird is also the companion of the wild woman of the woods.
